Conway Aecom i-CON Success

CONWAY AECOM has successfully added a further module of the i-CON Oracle ERP business system

The Field Service Dispatch Centre will now be used to issue scheduled work orders to the mobile devices already being used on the TfL network. Operatives issued with the latest iPad technology have been receiving emergency call outs via the i-CON system since June and will now have the facility to receive reactive work in the same way.

System i-CON was launched at CONWAY AECOM in April, at the start of LoHAC covering the areas of HR, Projects, Purchasing, Inventory, Finance and Service Control Centre and is currently being further developed to incorporate Apps and Certs and the interface with Bentley for TMA permitting.

The issuing of work orders from the dispatch centre will provide the operative with:

  • a full description of the task requirements
  • drop-pin mapping of the site location using Simba technology
  • TMA permit details with model conditions and special requirements
  • location and defect photographs
  • Traffic Management details
  • SoR items with units of measure and quantities
  • The operative will return:

  • start / stop times of site activity
  • before and after photographs, date and time stamped for authenticity
  • accurate debrief of completed work
  • detail of additional materials used on site
  • closure of a works order to generate a work completion (WC) file to NAMS
  • The i-CON team at North Acton, led by Nick Webster, Business Improvement Manager, have worked closely with the operational team at CONWAY AECOM to develop processes and deliver training to fully meet the requirements of the business, and are confident that this advancement in mobile working will have far reaching benefits.

Matt Joel, Core services manager said:

    Collaboration at work in Harlesden

“The full roll out of the iPads has been heralded a huge success. This latest innovation receives work orders and returns accurate ‘real time’ information from site. We have already seen the benefits of this device with an upward trend in performance indicators and overall improved productivity.”
